No rupture

The oxide ceramic semiconductor (PTC thermister) used as a heating element keeps the surface temperature of the heater so constant that it has no danger of causing the heater to rupture.

Safe from fire

Even if an waterless operation should occur, the amperage would drop down in the air to one thirteenth to fourteenth of that while the element is in the water. Besides, the heater is quite safe since its surface temperature is lower than the ignition point of paper.

High power

The PTC thermister gives a large power output instantaneously because it shows negative characteristic in the zone at the Curie point or lower and it also has outstanding startup temperature characteristic as well an outstanding thermal recovery characteristics. Given the same power output, UCAN heater boils warter faster than a conventional sheathed heater.

Long life

Since the heating element made of ceramic does not oxidize, it lasts for a long time. The outer shell made of SUS-316L does not corrode.

Taking advantage of all these features such as safeness from fire, compactness, long life has led to the application of PTC steam-type humidifiers to the type of air-conditioning units that are concealed above the ceiling as well as with compact-sized air-conditioning units.
